Two-terminal fault detection and location for hybrid transmission circuit

This paper presents the algorithms developed to detect and locate faults ata hybrid circuit. First, fault detection algorithm was using comparison of total positive-sequence current between pre-fault times occurrence a fault. Then, voltage check method used decide whether occurred at overhead line (OHL) or cable section. Finally, location impedance-based negative-sequence measurements from both terminals circuit were estimate point local terminal. From tests various conditions including different types, resistance locations, proposed successfully detected all cases around 1 cycle initiation with correct faulted section identification. Besides that, also has very accurate results estimation average error less than km 1%.<br /><div> </div>
